This past week I (for reasons unbeknownst to me) felt the urge to jog. I say jog because I am NOT one to “run” and I typically just walk or do Peloton Bike classes…sooooo this was a strange urge. Maybe it’s because the weather has been so nice lately or because I have been a bit less active than I normally am in the past two months, but whatever the reason, I believe in listening to my body – so I reluctantly set out on guided 30 minute jogs/walks using my Peloton App.
Here’s my progression thus far:

Average Speed: 4.5 mph
Distance: 2.32 Miles
Average Pace: 12:55 min/mile
Calories Burned: 244 Calories
Average Speed: 4.6 mph
Distance: 2.35 Miles
Average Pace: 12:46 min/mile
Calories Burned: 250 Calories
Average Speed: 4.7 mph
Total Time: 1.5 hours
Distance: 7.89 Miles … WHAT? almost eight miles? No way…that’s so far! Madness.
Admittedly – I was SO sore after my initial/first 30 minutes on Sunday. However, I took some time to rest, drank some BCAAs every day, used my at home massage tools, and stretched.
I have noticed that each time I head out, I feel my right knee is more tense than the left, but I find by about the 10 minute marker it has loosened up and doesn’t feel so bad. I also noticed that each time I feel a bit steadier in my breathing by the end of the 30 minutes, and though I am out of breath the recovery isn’t as slow.
I like to regularly change up my workouts, and I like to challenge myself, so I am interested to see if this urge to jog remains or not. I do enjoy being outside – so I hope that factor might keep me going.
Anything random that you feel like doing that’s “uncharacteristically” out of place or personally surprising?
